Hi hi.
A different note from me today. I’m popping in to let you know that posts are gonna come a little less frequently the next two months.
The sun is shining and I hope we’re all enjoying the goodness of a double-vaxxed life. I am certainly LOVING seeing my family and friends in person (OMG - what a concept?!?!).
In the meantime, I’m still thinking of you all and how to break the rules so more can win in the game of life. And I’ve got two thoughts to share…
Optimistic Contrarian
I’m reading the Almanac of Naval Ravikant. It’s full of mic drops around work and personal life. One of them has been this notion of optimistic contrarian.
I like this phrase because it combines two essential Rule Breaker-y things.
First - a belief that things can get better.
Second - acknowledgement there is a different way to do things.
I’m going to be infusing this notion into upcoming posts. Stay tuned. 🥳
Indigenous Clean Energy
One other note before I let you go… the news of the Residential School mass graves has been horrendous. It feels like this thing we knew about but didn’t really know know. You know?
My sincerest hope is that this propels our government to act faster and better in eliminating the gap between Indigenous well-being and the rest of Canadians.
On the topic of water, Jagmeet Singh made a solid, “I don’t even know how you contradict him” argument for clean drinking water for all Indigenous communities. Click the tweet below and give the 50 second video a watch.
On the topic of energy, there is a huge opportunity to enable the nearly 300 remote Indigenous communities to have reliable and inexpensive power.
I wrote about how small-scale clean energy projects are transforming Indigenous communities. To date, though, this post has the fewest views of anything I’ve written. 🧐
So - I’m sharing it with you again.
If you haven’t read it, do make time. This isn’t just about how to address a basic need of electricity and clean up the environment. This is about how clean energy is the fuel that propels so much further progress in community wellbeing.
All right. That’s it for me today.
Enjoy the warmth and chat with ya soon
